Notes
- "The poems in Colored: A Handbook were written over the course of four decades during trips to Russia, New York, Missouri; artist residencies in Minnesota, New Mexico and New Hampshire; and living in Connecticut, the District of Columbia, and California. A companion to Negroes: A Handbook (2015), Colored features digital printing in Helvetica Neue typeface on handmade paste papers partially dyed with persimmon juice. The process of making the paste paper for this book and its accompanying box brought me much enjoyment and filled my studio with color and patterns. I hope is some small way that the joy and wonder I experienced in creating this project transfers to you as you read and handle this book # ... of twenty copies."--Colophon
- Limited edition of 20 copies, unbound and issued in laser-engraved, persimmon-dyed birch wood box.
- Each 28 x 20 cm leaf printed double-sided and folded to 14 x 20 cm. Some sheets are single folded and others are gate folded.
