Linda Nochlin looks at representation and reception of nude bathers in the visual arts. She discusses different viewpoints, experiences and interpretations in observing the bodies, including those of her own. Discussed are works of among others: Renoir, Manet, Cézanne, Bonnard, Picasso, Philip Pearlstein, Alice Neel, and Jenny Saville.
