Archaeological heritage management in the Netherlands: fifty years state service for archaeological investigations


Abstract

In fifteen chapters, the many various facets of archaeological heritage management in the Netherlands are reviewed. Among them, topics such as the future prospects of archaeological heritage management on land and underwater; archaeological expectancy maps; evaluation and selection of archaeological findspots; consequences of the Valletta convention (Malta) for archaeology; developments in the documentation of archaeological finds and findspots; the role of museums and depots for soil finds.
