Antique dealers' fair & exhibition in Tokyo 2024: 60th anniversary = Tōbi tokubetsuten dai 22-kai

Abstract

"This exhibition brings together major art dealers from all over Japan to present their finest selection of artworks in one place for a display and sale event. The first exhibition of this kind was held in 1964 to commemorate the holding of the Tokyo Olympics and to introduce visitors from both Japan and overseas to some of the finest artworks in Japan. This year marks 60th anniversary, since that first exhibition. Given that this exhibition is only held every few years, the participating art dealers work all the harder to seek out superb works for inclusion in the event. The exhibition brings together the highest-grade artworks currently available. Many of the works from previous events were purchased by museums.
