Trophy weapons

The Belgian Revolt of 1830 made such an impression on thirteen-year-old Sietze Johannes Roosdorp that the Dutch teenager began to collect souvenirs of the event: weapons, bits of uniforms and musical instruments used by Dutch and Belgian troops. Later, Roosdorp displayed his collection in waiting rooms at the Amsterdam train station where he was stationmaster. He knew exactly who had used what, such as the pocket inkstand once owned by Baron Chassé, commander of the Antwerp citadel.
