Most of the implements found on Nova Zembla are carpentry and shipbuilding tools. The (surgeon’s) saw is the exception and was probably used to perform amputations.

    Nijptang van ijzer met licht naar binnen gebogen uiteinden. De tang is uitgerust met een sterk gekromde, scherpe bek, die door middel van twee scharnierende, gebogen stangen geopend en gesloten kan worden.
