Border with Birds and Bunches of Grapes

The Venetian engraver Cesare Vecellio published four patterns books with lace motifs between 1592 and 1608. The border with birds eating grapes is close, but not identical to any specific pattern in this book.

    Strook naturelkleurig naaldkant, punto in aria. Patroon verdeeld in driehoeken waarin een vogel die naar een gestileerde druiventros pikt afgewisseld wordt door een gestileerde druiventros omringd door wijnbladeren. De vogels zijn om en om naar links en naar rechts gekeerd. Apart aangezette rand met puntige symmetrische schulpen met in het centrum een gestileerd wijnblad. Volwerk met festonsteken en uitsparingen. Geen siersteken, reliëf of contourdraden.
