Entry

Percussion lock in the form of a simple hammer on a pivot on a lock plate, painted black.

The method of fastening the lock plate to the gun is unclear. The lanyard is wound around the axis of the hammer.

These locks were brought back from Russia by Julius Constantijn Rijk (1787-1854) in 1834. A priming tube, originally accompanying these models,1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 706. is now lost.
