Drum-major Dress Belt

anonymous, c. 1830 - c. 1880

Military bands were under the command of a drummajor, who was part of the headquarters staff. He was the most lavishly dressed man in the regiment and responsible for leading the band, keeping the tempo with a baton while marching.

    Slagband voor tamboer van rood fluweel met goudgalon en verguld koperen stokkenplaat en twee ebbenhouten stokken met koperen achtereinden en punten van hoorn. In gebruik bij majoors van de Haagse Schutterij.
