Various stray shoes were found on Nova Zembla. They were clearly not designed to withstand freezing temperatures. The stranded men soon replaced them with homemade fox-fur footwear.

    Rechtermuil, maat 35.5, waarvan de kap versierd is met een rij diagonaal geplaatste, korte insteken over de wreefboog en de kaprand is afgezet met een opgenaaide lederen schulprand. De muil heeft geen verstevigingstouwtje.
