Pair of wheellock pistols with spanner

Peter Meesen, 1655 - 1660

The characteristic feature of the wheellock is the spinning wheel, which strikes a piece of pyrites, generating sparks. The lock can be internally tensioned by turning the square spindle a quarter turn with a separate spanner. This spanner also serves as a screwdriver and can be used to loosen the cock when replacing the pyrites.

    Hoort bij een koppel radslotpistolen. De sleutel bestaat een plat ruitvormige deel met centraal een ronde opening en eindigend als een schroevendraaier, en een rond deel met vierkante kop die aan beide zijden open is en waarvan de opening correspondeert met het spil van het rad van de pistolen. Met deze kant kon de schutter de spil een kwartslag draaien. Draagoog in het midden.
