Pair of lace-up boots

Ch. Robat, c. 1912 - c. 1924

Ankle-length boots, often in two colours, were known as < Balmoral boots >, after Queen Victoria’s favourite country estate in Scotland. British shoemaker J. S. Hall developed the design in the 1850s for the prince consort, Albert. These boots were ideal for all kinds of outdoor activity.

    Rechter rijglaars, Balmoral boot, van zwart chroomleer en grijze wol. Onderste deel van de schacht en een biesje van glanzend chroomleer, teenstuk en de wreef van grijze wol. Tresveters van zijde. Hoog, elegant model met ronde neus en een Weense hak van laagjes leer. Adres: (bovenaan in het been op een geweven band): Ch. Robat/58 Rue de Rome. Paris, tussen een Engels en Amerikaans wapentje, (zool en zool van de hak): CH. ROBAT.
