Ed van der Elsken, 1956-12 - before 1957-03
This portrait of N’Gabé – one of the thirty men who carried all of the equipment during a trip through what was then the French colony of Oubangui-Chari – was included in an early retrospective of Van der Elsken’s work in the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam in 1959. As was customary at the time, the print was mounted on hardboard.
