Magazine Covers Bond van Kunstenaars ter verdediging van de Kulturele Rechten (Association of Artists in Defence of Cultural Rights)

anonymous, 1936-06

In 1935, a group of Dutch, left-wing artists campaigned against the rise of fascism. Human rights, the constitution, and art subsidies were under threat. Militarism, war, nationalism, violence and oppression threatened. The artists formed a union that organized lectures and protest exhibitions. These pages are from their bulletin calling for resistance.
