Landscape near Nagasaki

attributed to Antoon Bauduin, 1862 - 1866

Some of Bauduin’s landscape photographs are difficult or impossible to place. Nagasaki has grown vastly since he and Albert lived there. Much of what was still countryside back then – as in this scene of rice paddies and thatched houses – is all built-up now.
