Goblet

anonymous, c. 1600 - c. 1625

Some rock-crystal objects look very modern. This goblet is a precursor of the wine glass now in general use, which has been made of glass only since the 18th century.

  • Description

    Kelkglas met montuur van geëmailleerd goud. Het trechtervormige glas is verticaal geribd. Voet en stam van kristal, kelkrand en nodus en voetrand van goud. Om de beide laatste bloemranken, vogels en dieren van translucide email. De rand langs het glas valt over de smalle, geslepen versiering. Vermoedelijk is deze rand later aangebracht.
