Commemorative plates with scenes from the Boer War. Earthenware, c. 1910. Made by Petrus Regout, Maastricht. Sympathy for the Boers was so strong in Holland that the memory of the war continued to live on for many years. Particularly popular were the various Afrikaner songs, as well as plates such as these.

    Herinneringsbord Boerenoorlog: wit bordje met decoratie in zwart en gouden randjes. Britse krijgsgevangen worden door enkele soldaten van de Boeren weggevoerd. Op de achtergrond heuvels waarop enkele mannen en wolken. Mogelijk gaat het om de door de Boeren gewonnen Slag bij Majuba op 27 februari 1881. Bord aan de onderzijde gemerkt: fabrikant-merk, daaronder BOEREN. Behoord tot een serie van 6 bordjes: NG-1982-19-A t/m F. Voorstellingen en randjes enigszins vervaagd.
