Entry
Polychromed wooden half bracket model of the starboard side of a single-masted flat-bottomed ship, mounted on a rectangular black, wooden backboard.
The side of the ship is depicted by ribbands attached to frame moulds. Above the wale the side is planked and detailed with a leeboard and chainplates. The deck is closed. The sheer rises towards both ends. One wale is indicated, painted black. One gun port is indicated in the bow next to the bowsprit. The stern is round and fitted with a broad rudder with a hand tiller. The hull is flat-bottomed and painted white below the waterline. The position of one mast and the bowsprit is shown in a truncated form.
This type of gunboat had a total armament of two guns in the bow.1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 415.
