Fragment of a blue ensign, blue with a white canton with a red cross (St George’s cross).

This is an English blue ensign from the period c. 1630-1707. This flag was captured by the Dutch from the blue squadron under the command of Edward Spragge during the Battle of Texel, 21 August 1673.
