Entry

A pair of iron legcuffs linked by a long chain, and a key. The lock is a simple catch, which the key pulls back by turning on a thread. Both irons and the key are marked ‘5’.

These irons were acquired by the Inspector of Equipment for the Dutch Navy as examples of British legcuffs in 1866.1HNA 2.12.01 Min. Marine, inv. no. 4012.
