Design Stages for miffy’s letter

This tableau shows the design stages for the book miffy’s letter, in which Miffy goes camping and writes home about her experiences. Once Bruna was satisfied with a sketch, he scored the lines through onto soft paper. He carefully filled the resulting groove with black poster paint, giving rise to a blurred line. These black outlines were then transferred to translucent film and placed over various coloured collages.
