The master of the house chances upon his practically naked maidservant in bed. His curiosity aroused, he has put on his spectacles to compare her body with that of his spouse. He covers her vagina with his hat, apparently for the sake of ‘decorum’. Erotic prints were often anonymous because engravers did not want to risk their reputation.

    Vrouw slaapt in een bedstee en haar nachtkleding valt open. Een man houdt met een hand zijn hoed voor haar onderlichaam en met andere hand licht hij bij met een kaars. De arm met de hoed is een beweegbaar onderdeel van de prent waardoor haar geslacht zichtbaar wordt. Onder de voorstelling staat een vers met acht regels.
