Entry

Wooden construction model of a jury rudder using a topmast for its central spindle.

The blade is made from spars covered with planking and a mast cap used as a pintle surrounding the central spindle. The spare anchor stock (now incomplete) is fixed around the topmast.

This model is nearly identical to models NG-MC-228 and NG-MC-230. According to Obreen this model shows the design by Edward Pakenham.1J.M. Obreen, Catalogus der verzameling modellen van het Departement van Marine, The Hague 1858, no. 229.
